I'm absolutely whacked! And on Sunday I get to take a 10 hour coach journey with two changes to go back to my job on Monday, where I will have to... go in early due to the peculiar confluence of circumstances that would otherwise give me half an hour to process the whole month's overtime. So I'm probably getting some overtime pay.

I'm really nervous about going back to my job. It's not an easy job (and it pays shit) and before Christmas I had a whole pile of stress about my performance. I know I'll be going back to the busy time as well so that makes it worse. I've been wiping myself out on walks and artwork lately and I'm really not sure I have the gas in the tank to work, and run all my games, and wrangle my landlord.

Oh gosh, a 10 hour coach journey (with changes!) would be part of my own personal version of hell. Maybe you can put in a rest day before the trip seeing how you can't have one after?

Alas, my day before is going to involve packing my stuff, meeting a friend, seeing my aunt, and visiting grandparents, topped off with the last of the Welsh derby rugby matches I'm gonna get to see. So, rest, but not... rest really, haha.

Yeah, the 10 hours is brutal. It's bearable in summer but in winter when it's dark and the lights are piercing it... really... sucks.

That's still an impressive list of activities – wow.

My limit is about 3-4 hours for coach journeys, but that can deteriorate quickly depending on the other passengers. I often end up going by train instead because they're easier to bear. More expensive, though, which is some sort of disability tax for sure.

Yeah, that's fair - I can't manage trains myself because a) I always have too much luggage and b) they make me nervous because I don't understand them the way I do coaches. But it's absolutely outrageous how much they cost.

I've successfully made the trip and it would've been pretty much fine if not for the fact I had a seatmate - I hate that - for some of it. In some ways there is an up side, which is that I was upset to be leaving but by the time I got to my destination I was just glad to be somewhere so I wasn't sad anymore haha.

Also figured out how to read on a dark coach and finished the Left Hand of Darkness, which gave me some other Emotions to have for a while.
