Today I started working on my 2018 Best Of art post - I've identified what pieces I want to include, but I'm going to hold off on creating the template framework and posting for a little bit, preferably till after Christmas. It's not like I'm waiting on a December entry - after being like 'oh god what if I have to include tumblr protest titties' I realised I'd drawn three quality pieces this month that are eligible.
I was looking back at last year's and I feel really good; I think this was the year I got serious about my art. I can see several months in which I was scraping the bottom of the barrel - April and July in particular - whereas this year I was so spoiled for choice I was choosing some months based on what pictures would look good together.
Last year's stuff does still hold up - it's not like I hate it or anything, at least not the bits I deemed worthy of the year in review - it's just that this year's is so much better, more prolific, more daring.
Artist friends, are you planning any kind of year in review post, and if so how are you doing it?
