I've managed to accumulate a non-zero number of people who play tabletop rpgs on here, I think.

So, question - what game/s are you playing at the moment? What's your favourite character you've ever played?

For me, I... made a whole post about this a while back, so I won't bore you with what games. In terms of favourite, I don't know, Quae is making a convincing bid, but I'm gonna go with Kehurie Tanok Lumina, my lightbringer; ze was a hero in a world that sorely needed them, a lover, a fighter, an idealist haunted by the evil ze had been and done, who stood up against impossible odds and won - but in the doing lost everything. Kehurie, it turned out, could save everything except the people close to zir. Zir relationship was beautiful but deeply, deeply star-crossed.

I'm running the Worst, most slapdash pseudo-5e game right now, and I've also been running Honey Heist a few times for various people.

Also I played an orcish warlock named Frudck whom I love very much and I feel bad that his name (and in fact all the names of characters I've played) is just a typo I made one time. (I was trying to say fuck and it. didn't come out that way)

Honey Heist looks sooo good! I haven't yet had chance to play it but one day... (Have you heard of Big Gay Orcs, by the same designer?)

Hell yeah orcs! Everyone's got their own naming conventions haha, nothing wrong with a good typo.

Honey Heist is really fun! It's low prep for everyone involved which I like a lot.

The only one I've actually run is One Last Job, which was utter carnage - the early scenes feel really easy (one of my players decided he wanted to keep upping the stakes and giving me more dice as a result) and the final one was just. the Most. I was rolling like 24 dice against their 7. I had to get the NPC'd player to help me roll because my tiny hands physically couldn't hold that many dice. I had to fudge the rolls to avoid a TPK and there was still only one survivor. They got horses onto the roof of Westminster Abbey and flew off in a flat-packed helicopter, fighting Helen Mirren.

holy shit, that sounds really intense. I love how summaries of games sound very ridiculous to people without context even if it's a fairly standard setup (i.e., adventuring party goes off to save the world by slaying monster)

One Last Job was my birthday game. We laughed a lot; they started from the premise 'we're here to hijack this royal wedding' and it got More from there.

God, that thing with game summaries is so great... There's no such thing as a game that cannot or will not dissolve into shenanigans at the slightest provocation.

Holy shit we should start a 'describe your game/s in one sentence, as shittily as possible' thread because those are always fantastic.

I haven't played a LOT in my life, but I've played mostly 5e and pathfinder. Over January term at my university a friend is running Starfinder, so I'm excited to see how I feel about that!

I've talked a LOT about my Cyril over on my blog, and he probably is my all-time favorite, but a serious challenger is Barb, the character I used for one shots last year. Barb is a gnome ranger who is about fifty years old, and she's everyone's weird hillbilly mom. She wants to make sure that everyone is okay and well-fed, pulling out containers upon containers of leftovers from her Fannypack of Holding, but she also wants to find a rowdy good time. Last time I played Barb, she went on a two-day alcohol and Fantasy Weed bender, witnessed a catastrophe in the city she was traveling through, decided the chief of the city guard wasn't handling it very well, physically fought him to demand his badge, avoided arrest, went to fix the issue herself, nearly died falling 200 feet into the sea, returned to the city, and demanded the position of Captain of the Guard from the mayor. I consider her retired, because that's her job now.

She rides an ox, affixed to whom is a banner reading 'SAVE A HORSE, RIDE A COWGIRL,' and has a habit of firing flaming arrows, which she lights off the end of her cigarette.

Oh nice! Starfinder looks really cool, I'm very 0.0 about the Solarian class which is completely up my street. I'll be interested to see how you find it, if you're posting about it.

Holy shit I love Barb. She sounds... incredible. The Fannypack of Holding is magnificent.

I'll be posting about it for sure! I'm really excited to get into it--space adventures are pretty much my favorite thing, after fantasy adventures.

Barb has, historically, been a crowd-pleaser. I'm glad you like her and her very rowdy ways.
